Functions and objectives

The Athletes' Commission supports the Organizing Committee in the organization of the 2026 National Summer Games. The Athletes' Commission is made up of people with disabilities who participate in sports and regularly take part in Special Olympics competitions.

The goal of the Athletes' Commission is to enable co-determination and participation for all, as well as mutual learning and growth from different experiences. The Summer Games are not organized for, but with people with disabilities. In this way, the LOC can ensure that the Summer Games take place according to needs.

The Athletes' Commission brings its experience from competitions and training sessions to the LOC and supports the individual departments in the planning of events, cooperation with clubs and sponsors and marketing. The athletes are also ambassadors for the 2026 National Summer Games and represent the values to the public.
