The local organizing committee for the Special Olympics National Summer Games 2026 is delighted to announce that musician Marc Sway will be the official ambassador for the games and will also be the main act at the opening ceremony on May 28, 2026, in Zug.

The well-known Swiss singer has dedicated one of his songs to the National Summer Games, sending a strong message of solidarity. “As a musician, it is important to me to connect people and bring emotions to life. The Special Olympics show how much strength there is in community and diversity. This commitment is a matter close to my heart,” says Marc Sway.

For the organizing committee, working with a well-known artist like Marc Sway is an important step in further promoting the issue of inclusion. Thanks to his popularity, he reaches a wide audience and carries the message of “Zug2026 – a matter close to our hearts” beyond the world of sport. This gives the cause of inclusion additional weight and maximum visibility. “The National Summer Games in Zug are much more than a sporting event. They are a celebration of diversity that shows us how enriching differences are. Being part of this fills me with pride and gratitude,” Marc Sway continues.

With his passion and authenticity, Marc Sway embodies the values of the Special Olympics and supports the vision of a society in which all people belong as a matter of course. Eliane Müller, President of the Organizing Committee, is enthusiastic: “We are very much looking forward to working with Marc Sway. He immediately took our commitment to heart. It's a wonderful fit.”

Marc Sway will not only dedicate one of his songs to the Special Olympics National Summer Games 2026. He will also be the main act at the opening ceremony on May 28, 2026, and give a short concert in the OYM Hall. The local organizing committee is in talks with him about further performances.
