The second issue of the official magazine of the Special Olympics National Summer Games Zug 2026 was published on 23 April 2025 - another milestone on the way to Switzerland's largest inclusive sporting event. ‘Special Mag #2’ offers touching insights into moving stories, sporting preparations and the commitment behind the scenes.
A central theme of the issue is the story of Omar and his son Hilmir, who train together on the golf course in Holzhäusern. The article shows how Migros Golf's inclusive approach is put into practice: ‘Golf for all’ is not just a motto here, but a reality. Hilmir, who is an athlete himself, sums it up in one sentence: ‘I'm just happy.’
Inclusion is also actively promoted in other sports. For example, the magazine reports on the success story of the inclusive petanque team ‘Les Amis des Boules’. Coaches Hölgi and Mike have set up a training programme in Zug that not only promotes sporting skills, but also strengthens self-confidence and team spirit.
The magazine is also dedicated to the great voluntary and financial commitment of numerous partners. For example, the Beisheim Foundation and the Zug Kiwanis Clubs report on their motivation to support the games. The Raiffeisen Inclusion Forum at the ZugSPORTS Festival will also take place again in 2025 - with a focus on inclusion in sport.
The second edition of the ‘Special Mag’ makes one thing clear: the 2026 National Summer Games in Zug are much more than just a sporting event. They are a symbol of inclusion in action, of community and of the power of togetherness.
